I'm eljay and this website is dedicated to my photography in whatever form it might take.
Please feel free to send comments to me at eljay@eljayPhoto.com about any of the photos or the website. Your comments and constructive criticisms are welcome and appreciated.
I hope you enjoy your visit.
As I have the last two years, I start the new year off with the Visual AIDS: Postcards From the Edge benefit - January 25-27, 2013. Hope to see you there.
There are three (yep, count 'em, tha-ree!) new shows. It's been a very busy time lately getting ready for everything. I hope you'll be able to join me at one or more shows.
ART & AIDS: It's Not Over - November 27 - December 1, 2012
NYC Photo Club Holiday Sale - December 1, 2012
NYU Class Group Exhibition - December 13, 2012
I've also updated my photography history with the latest exciting and "serious" development.
There's a new show: Harvest Group Show, October 3-10, 2012.
It's been a long time coming (hey, what's seven months among friends), but I've finally completed the site update to support local galleries. There was a lot of work "under the hood", but for you it just means that when you view a gallery, you'll stay at eljayPhoto.com instead of being directed to another photo hosting site.
I've added a new menu option: portfolios. This page has links to galleries with some of my best work. Maybe about 90% of the pictures in the portfolios are new to this website.
And, if anyone's interested, I've added my photography history.
I'll have a photo on the wall at the Visual AIDS: Postcards From the Edge benefit beginning January 6. This is my second year and I really enjoyed it the first time so I'm looking forward to it again.
I've also been working on updating the website. There'll be a few cosmetic changes that you'll see, but otherwise it will look pretty much the same. What I'm doing is re-writing the inner workings of the pages to give myself more flexibility to show galleries. When I first put the site together in October of 2010 I did it the old fashioned way because I wanted to get something up and running quickly in time for my first show later that month. Now I'm doing it the more modern way.
I expect to have that done by the end of the first week of January and then I'll be able to start processing my huge backlog of pictures. Don't worry, I won't inundate you with updates notices, but I do expect they will be a little more frequent then in the past.
There's a new show entry. Four of my photos will be displayed in the ART & AIDS: 30 Years group exhibition from Tuesday, November 29 through Saturday, December 3, 2011.
The opening reception is Tuesday, November 29, 2011, 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the Leslie/Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art . I hope to see you there.
I'd also like to mention that I am WAY behind in posting new pictures. Life has a way of getting in the way of itself. I have plenty of pictures (although they still need to be reviewed and selected) but I have also been waiting to update the website to host the pictures here instead of other photo sites like Picasa and Fotki . I have recently developed the new web pages to do this so I am going to be making a big effort over the next couple of months to get them posted. Please stay tuned.
There's a new show entry. Four of my photos will be displayed in the As We See It 2011 group exhibit from June 9 through August 15, 2011.
There are two new show entries. One of my photos will be displayed at the Visual AIDS: Postcards From the Edge show in January. And some of my photos were included in a slideshow at my photography club's holiday party. I know, that's not really much of a "show" per se, but any place my photos are displayed where people other than myself can see them is still kind of a show for me. Remember, I'm new at this.
I'm still working on this website so I've made some visual and format changes, and of course updated the text. Please e-mail any comments about the website to me at eljay@eljayPhoto.com.
Everything. It's a brand spanking new website. What you see so far is just a quick setup, put together in time for the show opening Tuesday, October 26, 2010. Please forgive the glitches as this is just the beginning of a work in progress.
If you're interested, you can read about my photography history.
If you'd like to be notified when the site is updated with new pictures or shows, please send an e-mail to eljay@eljayPhoto.com requesting to be on the mailing list. I don't really expect updates to be all that frequent (once a month or two at most) so you won't be inundated with messages.
Your e-mail address will never be given or sold to another company or individual and will only be used by eljayPhoto.com to notify you of updates to this website. If other options in addition to update notification become available in the future, those options will not become effective automatically. You will be made aware of the new options and you will have to personally opt-in.
thanx for visiting today
