What's new as of 11/19/12:
There are three (yep, count 'em, tha-ree!) new shows. It's been a very busy time lately getting ready for everything. I hope you'll be able to join me at one or more shows.
ART & AIDS: It's Not Over - November 27 - December 1, 2012
NYC Photo Club Holiday Sale - December 1, 2012
NYU Class Group Exhibition - December 13, 2012
I've also updated my photography history with the latest exciting and "serious" development.
What's new as of 9/25/12:
There's a new show:
Harvest Group Show,
October 3-10, 2012.
And I've added two of the photos from the Harvest Group Show to my portfolios:
flower macros
and
nature
What's new as of 8/17/12:
It's been a long time coming (hey, what's seven months among friends), but I've finally completed the site update to support local galleries. There was a lot of work "under the hood", but for you it just means that when you view a gallery, you'll stay at eljayPhoto.com instead of being directed to another photo hosting site.
I've added a new menu option:
portfolios.
This page has links to galleries with some of my best work. Maybe about 90% of the pictures in the portfolios are new to this website.
There's a new show:
Bushwick Open Studios 2012,
and a new snapshot gallery:
Hortonville 7/16-18/10.
And, if anyone's interested, I've added
my photography history.
What's new as of 1/1/2012:
I'll have a photo on the wall at the
Visual AIDS: Postcards From the Edge
benefit beginning January 6. This is my second year and I really enjoyed it the first time so I'm looking forward to it again.
I've also been working on updating the website. There'll be a few cosmetic changes that you'll see, but otherwise it will look pretty much the same. What I'm doing is re-writing the inner workings of the pages to give myself more flexibility to show galleries. When I first put the site together in October of 2010 I did it the old fashioned way because I wanted to get something up and running quickly in time for my first show later that month. Now I'm doing it the more modern way.
I expect to have that done by the end of the first week of January and then I'll be able to start processing my huge backlog of pictures. Don't worry, I won't inundate you with updates notices, but I do expect they will be a little more frequent then in the past.
What's new as of 11/6/2011:
There's a new show entry. Four of my photos will be displayed in the
ART & AIDS: 30 Years
group exhibition from Tuesday, November 29 through Saturday, December 3, 2011.
The opening reception is Tuesday, November 29, 2011, 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the
Leslie/Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art
.
I hope to see you there.
I'd also like to mention that I am WAY behind in posting new pictures. Life has a way of getting in the way of itself. I have plenty of pictures (although they still need to be reviewed and selected) but I have also been waiting to update the website to host the pictures here instead of other photo sites like
Picasa
and
Fotki
.
I have recently developed the new web pages to do this so I am going to be making a big effort over the next couple of months to get them posted. Please stay tuned.
What's new as of 5/14/2011:
There's a new show entry. Four of my photos will be displayed in the
As We See It 2011
group exhibit from June 9 through August 15, 2011.
What's new as of 1/2/2011:
There are two new show entries. One of my photos will be displayed at the
Visual AIDS: Postcards From the Edge
show in January. And some of my photos were included in a slideshow at my
photography club's holiday party.
I know, that's not really much of a "show" per se, but any place my photos are displayed where people other than myself can see them is still kind of a show for me. Remember, I'm new at this.
I'm still working on this website so I've made some visual and format changes, and of course updated the text. Please e-mail any comments about the website to me at
eljay@eljayPhoto.com.
What's new as of 10/25/2010:
Everything. It's a brand spanking new website. What you see so far is just a quick setup, put together in time for the show opening Tuesday, October 26, 2010. Please forgive the glitches as this is just the beginning of a work in progress.
